You've read the entire site? Regarding the origins of homosexuality, the American Psychological Association in "Answers to Your Questions For a Better Understanding of Sexual Orientation & Homosexuality;" says: "There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay, or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors."
The past president of the American Psychiatric Association’s GLBT Issues committee said in an interview in a prominent homosexual publication that “…there is no real hard science to prove we are born gay.”

This is what Dr. Collins actually said..

"An area of particularly strong public interest is the genetic basis of homosexuality. Evidence from twin studies does in fact support the conclusion that heritable factors play a role in male homosexuality. However, the likelihood that the identical twin of a homosexual male will also be gay is about 20% (compared with 2-4 percent of males in the general population), indicating that sexual orientation is genetically influenced but not hardwired by DNA, and that whatever genes are involved represent predispositions, not predeterminations."

Dr. Collins claims his words "have been juxtaposed in a way that suggests a somewhat different conclusion that I intended. I would urge anyone who is concerned about the meaning to refer back to the original text."

You all sure to play fast and loose with the truth, don't you? This entire site is nothing but hateful, hurtful propaganda.

In 2003, the International Human Genome Consortium announced the successful completion of the Human Genome Project, which, among other things, identified each of the approximately 20,000-25,000 genes in human DNA. The press release read: “The human genome is complete and the Human Genome Project is over.”
While this accomplishment was widely reported, almost no one reported the words of Dr. Francis Collins, the head of the project. Collins, arguably the nation’s most influential geneticist, said, “Homosexuality is not hardwired. There is no gay gene. We mapped the human genome. We now know there is no genetic cause for homosexuality.”

Mark P: Your references to I Timothy 2:11-13 are taken out of context. Paul was writing to Timothy in Ephesus, a Greek city. If in a Greek city Christian women had taken an active and a speaking and a teaching part in the work of the Christian Church the Church would inevitably have gained the reputation of being a place of loose and immoral women. All the things in this chapter are temporary regulations laid down to meet a given situation. What did Paul really think of women? Check out Galatians 3:28 and II Timothy 1:5 where Paul holds Lois and Eunice in high honor. Other passages include: Matthew 28:8-10- it was women who first saw the risen Savior; Priscilla was a valued teacher (Acts 18:26); despite their quarrelsome natures Euodia and Syntyche labored in the Gospel (Philippians 4:2,3); Philip had four daughters who were prophetesses (Acts 21:9). Paul says the elderly women are to teach in Titus 2:3 and Romans 16 contains the names of many women held in honor.

Well Dean, you claim to have a daughter in this July 14, 2011 post http://outinthesilence.blogspot.com/2011/07/is-it-choice-scientists-view.html My only erroneous assumption was that you were married to your daughter's mother.

Well, we can agree on your first statement and I agree that the majority of homosexuals just want to live their lives. However the very loud minority of homosexual activists are seeking to redefine marriage and get other laws passed to give them special protections simply because of the sexual activity in which they engage. No one is born homosexual and all have equal protection under the law. As far as homosexuals not breaking up families, I can give you a couple examples off the top of my head: Dean Hamer one of the filmmakers of this 'documentary' left his wife and daughter when he "discovered" he was really homosexual and V. Gene Robinson, the first open homosexual Episcopalian 'bishop' also left his wife and family when he "discovered" he was homosexual. Two of many examples of those who identify as homosexual putting their confusion before the well-being of their family. Sin is sin and Christians are answerable to God as to how they confront its assault on the culture in which they live. Perhaps you should take time to look at the CDC statistics as to the dangers of the homosexual lifestyle and the impact it has on the rest of society i.e. health care costs associated with HIV/AIDS. Additionally, I seriously doubt you have reviewed the entire website. Read Romans 1.

There is right and wrong, and there is an attack on the family these days by the popular culture. But it's not the gays that are doing it. Mostly they just want to live their lives and be left alone. It's not gays divorcing or breaking up families. Straights are doing that. The gay neighborhood in any city is usually one of the safer ones. Younger evangelical Christians will tell you homosexuality is a sin, but they don't expound huge amounts of time and energy attacking gays. Most of us (I'm a heterosexual married Christian man) don't care what other people are doing in their bedrooms. Ms Gramley (I don't know if you're married or not) this whole website makes you come off like an overly concerned prude with too much time on your hands.

Excuse me, do you know me Jay? From what study did you glean your information? You tolerate "gay" because you, like so many, view the world through the lens of moral relativism. And, whether you believe it or not, there is ultimate truth, there is right and wrong.

People who hate gays are all gay themselves. I tolerate gays because I'm comfortable enough with my heterosexuality to know gays won't "change" me.
