Today the US Department of Justice, instructed by the White House, announced it would no longer defend a federal law – the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). The President has deemed Section 3 of DOMA to be unconstitutional. The American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA), a statewide defender of traditional marriage between one man and one woman, notes that the President is on the losing end of the debate on marriage.

Since 1974 conservatives have been attending the Conservative Political Action Conference or CPAC in Washington, DC. Unfortunately, the past few years CPAC has permitted the homosexual group GOProud to be a part of their gathering. This year they were even part of the planning process. The American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA) a statewide traditional values group, finds this trend to be very troubling. The concern has led the AFA of PA to join other pro-family groups to sign onto a letter which was published as a full-page color ad in the Washington Times today.

On January 26 David Kato, a leading Ugandan homosexual activist, was beaten to death with a hammer. Immediately following this crime, mainstream media began blaming pro-family evangelicals for the murder. This has become an increasingly standard tactic of homosexual activists and their allies in the media – if there’s any bullying or attacks on those who identify as homosexual, blame those who believe engaging in homosexual acts are dangerous and sinful. The American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA), a statewide traditional values group, has also been accused of hate speech, bullying and of contributing to the deaths of students who identify as homosexual.
