AFA of PA ACTION ALERT

Important Life Vote in Harrisburg

Details

House Speaker Mike Turzai has promised to bring SB 3  up for a vote between December 11 and 13.   SB 3 would ban abortions after an unborn baby is capable of feeling pain – 20 weeks (five months) and would ban dismemberment abortions.  On February 8, 2017 it passed in the Senate by a 32-18 vote.  Governor Wolf (former Planned Parenthood escort) has promised to veto the bill if it reaches his desk.   The Senate vote was two votes short of a veto override majority of 34, but some Senators could possibly be swayed if it came down to an override vote.  The concentration now is on the State House and the upcoming vote.

The passage of SB 3 in the House with a veto override majority of 136 votes would encourage House leaders to take a veto override vote in the State House, when Governor Wolf vetoes SB 3.  This would, in turn, encourage the State Senate to do the same.

Action Steps

1.)  Pray that the House will move forward with this vote even if pro-abortion activists show up and demand its defeat.

2.)  Contact your State Representative and ask him or her to support SB 3 and oppose all attempts to amend the bill.

** More actions steps to support State Rep Daryl Metcalferead yesterday’s  alert for more details and don’t forget to sign the petition.    Rep Metcalfe’s staff has been inundated with vulgar, obscene communications from homosexual activists since this all began.  This from his Facebook page:  ” The homosexual supporting leftists have been contacting my office to express their hate in profane vulgar ways that have shocked my staff who have received the majority of the calls and electronic communications.”

Call Representative Metcalfe’s office(s) and thank him.  His numbers are (717) 783-1707 and (724) 772-3110 (district office).  You can also use his contact form here   We must show support for those pro-life/pro-family elected officials who refuse to bow under pressure.  The other side is very quick to relentlessly attack them.
