NBA Carries Out Threat Against North Carolina, Will PA Be Next?

Details

As you know, the NBA has threatened North Carolina for months that if they don’t change their law requiring men to use the men’s facilities and women to use the women’s facilities they would move their All-Star Games from Charlotte.  Remember this law did NOT impact private businesses that could have whatever bathroom policies they wanted.  Last night they made good on the threat!  Click here to read our news release.

This blackmail, if it successfully forces North Carolina to change its law, will be replicated across the nation to intimidate other states to not pass laws restricting men to the men’s room, etc.  I can see homosexual activists using the NBA’s decision this fall as they continue their push to get Pennsylvania to pass  HB 1510 or SB 974 (or SB 1306, SB 1307 or SB 1316 – which would pass the bill incrementally).  Remember these bills would add sexual orientation and gender identity or expression to the PA Human Relations Act.   Their talking point will be –” Look what happens to states that don’t protect their transgender citizens.  Pennsylvania must be inclusive or look at the consequences it will suffer!”

Have corporations and sports leagues become too powerful as they push their liberal agendas and try to act as lawmakers?  What will happen to America if this new power is allowed to grow?  Who will be running the country – our elected officials or left-leaning corporations and sports leagues seeking to remake America’s social construct??

Action Steps

1.)  The NBA has a poll asking whether you agree with their decision to pull the All-Star Games out of Charlotte.   The poll is about halfway down their homepage on the right sidebar.  As of this writing, the “No’s” are slightly ahead.

2.)   You can express your concerns to the NBA by using their contact form here

3.)  Thank North Carolina Governor Patrick McCrory for standing strong and encourage him to continue doing so.  You can use the governor’s webform here   or call his office at (919) 814-2000.

4.)  North Carolina’s Speaker of the House Tim Moore remains committed to keeping HB 2, the  Public Facilities Privacy & Security Act, in place, but he will be under intense pressure to change his stand.  Encourage him to stand strong also.    Phone:  919-733-3451  or email:  Tim.Moore@ncleg.net

5.)  What should Christians do when it comes to NBA games?  If we continue supporting with our dollars corporations and sports leagues that directly oppose our values, we send them the message that our values aren’t all that important and it’s fine with us to destroy them.
