Blog: Homosexual Activists Push Radical AgendaMedia_PA

“Anti-discrimination” has a nice ring to it, but this type legislation actually discriminates against those with deeply held religious beliefs that homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism are wrong. They also discriminate against those business owners with common sense who know allowing men who think they are women to use the women’s restroom is not a good business decision — just ask the Portland, Oregon bar owner who was fined $400,000  because he asked transgender women (meaning they are men who think they are women) to take their business elsewhere. His real women customers were complaining because the transgender “women” were using the women’s restroom.

But stories like that one are never told by these activists who are pushing for the passage of HB and SB 300 which would add “sexual orientation and gender identity or expression” to the PA Human Relations Act which deals with employment, housing and public accommodation. Equality Pennsylvania organized yesterday’s rally in Media  (Delaware County seat), but it is highly unlikely they quoted their own executive director, Ted Martin, when he said back in June 2011 that these ordinances are “about some really basic stuff . . . even use of a public bathroom.” So, there you have it – even from those pushing these ordinances!!

The typical activists attended the event, but increasingly we see misled church leaders attending such rallies. In this case it was Rev. James McIntire, pastor of Hope United Methodist Church in Havertown, who was there supposedly speaking for his denomination and Jesus. He must be forgetting that currently the Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church still condemns homosexual activity and, although Jesus talked about love, he also talked about the need to turn away from sin. In the eyes of these activists Jesus would be discriminating against those who do not find the narrow gate when he said, “Small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it” (Matthew 7:13).
