Action Alert: One Last Chance to Contact the Boy Scouts
May 23, 2013 // 2 CommentsToday 1400 leaders of the Boy Scouts of America will be voting on whether to change its longstanding membership policy to include open homosexuals in its ranks. Last week I was part of a group that met with a Scout Executive for 30-45 minutes. He answered all our questions, but a couple times he said the Boy Scouts is a business and the decision made on the 23rd would be made from a “what’s best for the business” approach. To me that was the most disturbing comment that he made during our conversation.

The American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA), a statewide traditional values group, would like to remind the Philadelphia Inquirer and others in Philadelphia that the majority of Pennsylvanians would be offended by what is presented at his week’s Equality Forum.

April 19, 2013 // 0 CommentsToday is the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network’s (GLSEN) “Day of Silence” in which it asks students to remain silent throughout the school day in order to show support for those who identify as homosexual. The American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA) has contacted many of the schools which have participated in the past, asking them if they will permit students to refuse to respond to questions directed at them during instructional time as a part of the Day of Silence protest. The AFA of PA has asked those schools which have students participating to not permit them to remain silent when called upon by a teacher during class time.

April 18, 2013 // 0 CommentsTomorrow is the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network’s Day of Silence in which participating middle and high school students are to remain silent throughout the school day in order to show support for “disenfranchised” students who identify as ‘gay, lesbian, bi or trans.’ Is your school or classroom teacher permitting students to remain silent during instructional time? Even the ACLU and homosexual group Lambda Legal recognize that students have no constitutional right not to speak during instructional time.
