Did Bristol Borough Answer the Questions Presented?

(Harrisburg)   — Last night the Borough of Bristol in Bucks County passed an amendment adding “sexual orientation and gender identity or expression”  to their so-called anti-discrimination ordinance.  Yesterday the American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA) emailed and faxed Borough Council members a list of questions they should have considered before the vote last night.

“Did they consider the questions we presented or did they simply do the politically correct thing and vote ‘yea’ without investigating the consequences?  The citizens in the borough have a right to know if the council thoroughly studied the ramifications of this amendment which will specifically target those with deeply held religious beliefs that homosexuality is wrong,” commented Diane Gramley, president of the AFA of PA.

The following questions were sent to Borough Council members:

1.)  Has testimony been given of recent incidences of real discrimination suffered by gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender residents?

2.)  How will this change impact those business owners with deeply held religious beliefs that homosexuality is sinful?

3.)  Do you have a local Y, health club or community pool?  If so, how will the “gender identity or expression ” component of the proposed amendment impact usage of the locker and shower rooms in those facilities?

4.) Are you ready to add sadomasochism to your human rights ordinance?  We have in our possession, and posted on our YouTube channel, the acknowledgement from Susan Wright, founder of the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom, that in upcoming years, they intend to push for the addition of sadomasochism to human relations ordinances which contain “sexual orientation” language.

5.)  Did you know there are more than thirty sexual orientations?  Which other group will be pushing for inclusion,  after the sadomasochists lobby for the addition of their sexual orientation?

In addition to the questions,  the AFA of PA provided examples of the negative impact such laws have had around the country.

“It appears Borough Council has rushed headlong into approving this amendment, which was just introduced last month, without any consideration of or investigation into the negative impact it will have on borough citizens and businesses,” further commented Gramley.
