Battle for Marriage Continues in PA –Schuylkill County Register of Wills Efforts Fully Supported

(Harrisburg) — Theresa Santai-Gaffney , Schuylkill County Register of Wills, has not given up her efforts to challenge the decision of Judge John E. Jones III to legalize same-sex “marriage” in Pennsylvania. The American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA), a statewide advocate for natural marriage, applauds and fully supports her efforts.

“After being turned aside by Jones and a three judge panel of the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, Theresa Gaffney is going forward with her efforts to appeal the decision of one unelected judge to force same-sex “marriage” on Pennsylvania. The AFA of PA fully supports her continued effort to bring the rule of law back to the Commonwealth,” stated Diane Gramley, president of the AFA of PA.

In the initial news release from her attorneys with the Smith Law Group, LLC in Fleetwood and Clymer, Musser & Conrad, P.C. in Lancaster, Ms. Gaffney notes, “An appeal is necessary so that the judicial process is not abandoned. I believe that the voice of those who think that our law is constitutional and best serves all citizens of the Commonwealth should be heard.” The AFA of PA agrees wholeheartedly!

“Our Founding Fathers formed a representative republic, not an oligarchy. However, we are slowly ceding our rights to unelected, unaccountable judges and taking away the powers of our duly elected legislators as outlined in the Constitution. These judges must be reined in and reminded also of the limited powers they have as outlined in the Constitution.” Gramley further stated.

The efforts to portray the legalization of same-sex “marriage” as being inevitable in the US is an attempt to discourage supporters of natural one man one woman marriage.   A recent Politico poll shows Americans oppose same-sex “marriage” — 52% to 48% with 33% strongly opposing it and only 26% strongly supporting. Pennsylvania follows that path; while a majority of Philadelphians and Pittsburghers may support so-called same-sex “marriage,” the overall consensus for the remainder of Pennsylvania is that it should not be legalized.

Pennsylvanians deserve better than the final decision of one unelected judge when it comes to the definition of the basic building block of our society.
