What Has Happened in Other States, Has Come to PA – This is the Real Reason Homosexual Activists Want HB/SB 300 Passed

(Harrisburg) — The Christian owners of two businesses in central PA are being attacked because they do not want to embrace and celebrate a lifestyle they believe is sinful. The Inne of the Abingtons in Lackawanna County  has turned away a lesbian couple who wants to use their facility for their “wedding” and W.W. Bridal Boutique in Bloomsburg has turned away another lesbian couple who wants to buy wedding gowns. Such situations will be used to push for passage of two homosexual special rights bills, but they expose the real reason homosexual activists are pushing for passage of HB and SB 300, notes the American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA), an organization advocating for natural marriage and religious freedom.

“Homosexual activists have zeroed in on W.W. Bridal Boutique since it is located in a more liberal town than the Inne at the Abingtons is. Its Facebook page has been filled with negative comments and its website was hacked — all coincidental, I’m sure! These actions are yet another example of just how tolerant those shouting for tolerance the loudest are,” commented Diane Gramley, president of the AFA of PA.

HB and SB 300 are being pushed as “anti-discrimination” bills; they would add “sexual orientation and gender identity or expression” to the PA Human Relations Act which deals with employment, housing and public accommodation. The sound bites are along the lines that people can be fired or evicted from their apartments simply for “being gay.” No recent, verifiable documentation is ever presented, even though we can present numerous stories of discrimination against Christian business owners in other states where similar laws have been passed.

“Homosexual activists want to use the force of law to require that everyone celebrate and affirm their lifestyle, even those with deeply held religious beliefs that engaging in homosexual acts is sinful. The actions of the Bloomsburg City Council confirms this — they want to pass a so-called anti-discrimination ordinance to force W.W. Bridal Boutique to sell wedding dresses to lesbians. According to the Yellow Pages, there are at least three other businesses that sell wedding gowns in Bloomsburg. Why target this one, when they can simply go down the street to another?   The truth is they want to force this business owner to go against her religious beliefs,” concluded Gramley.

HB and SB 300, as well as local so-call anti-discrimination ordinances, extend special protections to a group of people simply because of the sexual activity in which they engage or who they think they are. Once we open that Pandora’s Box, where does it end?
