World AIDS Day – What Has It Taught Us?

(Harrisburg) — World AIDS Day was first established in 1988 by the World Health Organization to unite communities to fight against HIV/AIDS.   The US theme for 2015 is “The Time to Act is Now.” The American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA), a statewide advocate for Biblical morality, abstinence until marriage and faithfulness within marriage, agrees that the time to act is now, but the first step is the need for honesty.

“The first step in being honest is to acknowledge the fact that the vast majority of those stricken with AIDS are men who have sex with men. The CDC reports only about 4 percent of US males have sex with other men, yet they represent about two-thirds of all new infections in the US. Even more alarming is they also report that 73 percent of new infections in 2010 were 13-24 year olds. These numbers will not go down, until the media and the entertainment industry stop glamorizing the homosexual lifestyle. The numbers will not go down until the promotion of the homosexual lifestyle is stopped,” commented Diane Gramley, president of the AFA of PA.

Back in February 2008 Matt Foreman, then Executive Director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, recognized the direct correlation between men engaging in sex with men and HIV. He declared ‘HIV is a gay disease’ during his speech before convention goers.

The compassionate response to the AIDS epidemic is not holding another World AIDS Day. It is not ignoring the fact that men who have sex with men make up the majority of cases. It is not promoting the homosexual lifestyle in schools or government entities as simply being an alternative lifestyle. The compassionate response is to be honest about the dangers to those involved in the homosexual lifestyle. As the efforts to normalize it have increased, younger and younger males are contracting the disease. They are being told a lie and are suffering the consequences.   Like a snowball rolling down a hill, the epidemic is getting bigger and bigger — enveloping more innocents who have been misled.   The whole idea of “safe sex” through using a condom is ludicrous. God’s plan is abstinence until one man one woman marriage and faithfulness within that marriage.

“Pennsylvania is among the top 10 states reporting the highest number of HIV diagnoses in 2013, yet there are legislators in Harrisburg pushing for changes in the PA Human Relations Act that would add ‘sexual orientation and gender identity or expression.’ Those involved in the effort have also bought into the lie that people are born homosexual.    It is not a compassionate response to ignore the stats, to ignore biology in order to validate a lifestyle that leads to untimely death,” Gramley concluded
