Today is the United States 241st birthday and it’s so much more than cookouts, frisbee, swimming and boating! John Quincy Adams, our nation’s sixth President, said on July 4th, 1837, “Is it not that, in the chain of human events, the birthday of the nation is indissolubly linked with the birthday of the Savior?” Just image that!
Too many of us simply call it “the Fourth of July” and seemed to have forgotten the real reason this day is so special to the very existence of the United States. Fifty-six brave men, representing thirteen small colonies in the New World, placed their name upon a document declaring their independence from Great Britain – the world’s super power of that time period. Why would they do that?
