AFA of PA encourages Christians, through education, to become involved in pro-family issues in their community, state and the nation. This is some of what has been going on in the Commonwealth and the nation.
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) filed a complaint with the Alabama Judicial Inquiry Commission (JIC) against that state’s Chief Justice Roy Moore. The charges focus solely on his Administrative Order issued in January 2016, in which he wrote that the 2015 orders of the Alabama Supreme Court remained in effect until the Court further indicates otherwise. Chief Justice Moore did not participate in the 2015 orders, which ruled that the Probate Judges must uphold the Alabama Sanctity of Marriage Act, which was approved by 81% of Alabama voters in June 2006.
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), which has a history of pushing the normalization of homosexuality on school children and intimidating concerned parents, has declared October 30 as “Mix It Up Day.” This is a day very similar to the ‘Gay Day of Silence,’ which is held in April each year. Students, teachers or administrators can go the SPLC website to sign their school up as being a participant and then the SPLC can claim the entire student population is participating! However, many school administrators receiving calls from concerned parents and taxpayers are very surprised to be told that their school is listed on the SPLC website! C
Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly continues to have homosexual activist Wayne Besen on his show as a guest on a regular basis. This is outrageous, especially in light of the shooting at the Family Research Center last Wednesday. FRC President Tony Perkins stated the shooter “was given a license to do that by a group such as the Southern Poverty Law Center who labeled us a hate group because we defend the family and stand for traditional orthodox Christianity.”
Last December the American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA) joined others in signing onto a statement condemning the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPCL) for falsely listing pro-family groups as hate groups. Within days of that statement appearing as full page ads in two Washington, DC newspapers, the AFA of PA received a letter from J. Richard Cohen, President and CEO of the SPLC.
Vote on S 510 – the “Food Safety Modernization Act” expected today in the Senate. The Southern Poverty Law Center lists the American Family Association as a ‘hate group.’ Just who is the Southern Poverty Law Center?
The Southern Poverty Law Center’s Winter 2010 Intelligence Report lists 18 of what they call “anti-gay groups.” The list includes 13 ‘hate groups’ including the American Family Association (AFA), the national organization the American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA) is connected with.
