Hatboro Borough Petition

UPDATE: On November 22, 2010 the Borough Council voted 4-3 to pass the ordinance. However, on December 6th Mayor Norman Hawkes vetoed it and the veto was upheld on December 14th. Councilwoman Nancy Guenst has said she wants to revisit the issue in the new year. Thus, we will keep this petition active.

FYI - Do you live in Hatboro Borough in Montgomery County? Democratic council member Nancy Guenst is spearheading the effort to get a homosexual special rights ordinance passed in Hatboro Borough. This will create a human relations ordinance with 'sexual orientation and gender identity or expression' language and create a commission to enforce the new law. This will affect employment, housing and public accommodations.

In real life this means men who think they are women must be permitted to use the women's restroom in all pubic accommodations and the women's locker room/shower facilities at the local Y or health club. Businesses would be forced to hire such sexually confused individuals. In places where such ordinances have passed, the Boy Scouts have been prohibited from using government facilities or local parks because of their ban on open homosexual leaders or members. Christian photographers have been fined for not wanting to photograph a homosexual 'commitment' ceremony and a church camp ground lost tax exempt status on part of its property because it refused to allow two lesbians to use its gazebo for their 'commitment' ceremony.

Does Hatboro Borough need such an ordinance?

Sign the petition and the AFA of PA will deliver your concerns to the Borough Council. In the meantime, give Council President Marianne Reymer and Borough Council members a call at 215-443-9100.
