Critical Race Theory in PA . . .

Details

Pennsylvania Department of Education (PA DOE) says schools won’t incorporate Critical Race Theory (CRT) into classrooms any time soon, though the department is encouraging “diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts” in all districts. They say there will be no state-mandated CRT curriculum.  NOTE:  Equity is a CRT buzzword.

Equity is NOT the same as equality — We all know what equality means (this is rejected by CRT proponents — To them equality represents ‘mere nondiscrimination’ and provides camouflage for white supremacy, patriarchy and oppression)  , but equity as defined and promoted by CRT theorists is little more than reformulated Marxism.  For example, in the name of equity UCLA Law Professor and CRT proponent Cheryl Harris has proposed suspending private property rights, seizing land and wealth and redistributing them along racial lines.

Ibraim Kendi, who directs the Center for Antiracial Research at Boston University,  has proposed the creation of a federal Department of Antiracism.  It would be independent of the elected branches and government and would have the power to nullify, veto or abolish any law or any level of government and curtail the speech of political leaders and others who are deemed insufficiently “anti racist.”

So, this is what is on the PA Department of Education’s website . . . you decide if it’s CRT or not!!

Some of what’s on the PA DOE website may sound good, but some questions to consider:   Is making skin color a primary focus more apt to discourage or encourage children to concentrate on that one aspect of another child than on the child as a person?     Is encouraging schools to use Black Lives Matter curriculum constructive in ending racism?

As you check the resources the PA DOE is encouraging school districts to use in their “diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts”, check out the “About” sections of the various websites.  Any mention of Howard Zinn or the Zinn Education Project is a red alert that it is NOT good for children — or anyone else!   Teaching Tolerance is a Southern Poverty Law Center project.  The Anti-Defamation League has been leaning more and more to the Left.

Action Steps

Contact your school district and ask if they are using any of the resources listed on the PA DOE website.
