Discharge Petition –  Has Your Congressman Signed On?

Details

Representative Steve Scalise has introduced a discharge petition in order to force debate and a vote on the Born Alive Infant Protection Act. They need two hundred eighteen signatures on the discharge petition in order to force action on it. Thus far the Democrats have voted numerous times not to allow the bill to move forward for a vote. So, this is the next step.  There are currently 198 signers. All Pennsylvania’s Republican Congressmen have signed onto the discharge petition.

Action Steps

Thank your Congressman for signing on (again all GOP Congressmen have) or let him or her know your thoughts on the fact their signature does not appear on the discharge petition.  Even though you may be represented by a liberal in DC, it is important that you contact them about this.  They need to know this is a very important issue to you, their constituent.   Just let them know you want them to sign onto the Scalise discharge petition.

You can find your Congressman and send a message here
