State Senator Tries to Get LGBTQ+ Resolution Passed

Details State Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-Bucks) introduced a resolution recognizing February 15, 2020 as  “Love is Love Day” in Pennsylvania.  His intention was to get it passed by unanimous consent in order to present it to the LGBTQ+ youth attending the Planned Parenthood-run Rainbow Room’s prom on February 15th.   However, some members opposed the resolution and Santarsiero refused to change any of the language in order to garner support.  So, as of February 4th the resolution — SR 307 — was referred to the Rules and Executive Nominations Committee.        All Democrat members of the committee, except Lisa Boscola, are co-sponsors of the resolution. NOTE: On February 10th, received a call from Senator Boscola’s office stating that she IS a supporter of this resolution!

Action Steps

Contact your State Senator and encourage him or her not to support SR 307.

The Senate is not scheduled to reconvene until 1:00 p.m. on March 16, but let your State Senator know that it is dangerous for the youth of Pennsylvania to encourage participation in the LGBTQ+ lifestyle.  With them not being in session until the middle of March, it would also be a great opportunity to set up an appointment to meet with your State Senator in a district office near you!

This resolution is designed to affirm the youth who identify as LGBTQ+.  Totally ignoring the negative physical and psychological impact of these youth, it would place the State Senate’s stamp of approval upon a very dangerous lifestyle choice.
