Upcoming Deadlines Pertaining to Primary Election

Details

First check out this video, which pertains to the poll question.

The primary election will be Tuesday, June 2.  The deadline to register to vote in this election is this coming Monday, May 18th.    You can register online here

You can download a blank voter registration form here and fill it out to either mail in or hand-deliver to your county voter registration office.  REMEMBER:  These must be in the hands of your voter registration office by the close of business on May 18th

We outlined in an April 13th alert, our concerns about no-excuse mail-in ballots which are now available due to new changes in voting laws.

However, we know some are afraid to go out to vote on June 2nd.  And, we also know Governor Wolf has granted permission to PA County Commissioners and County Executives to reduce the number of polling locations by 60 percent!  Allegheny County has announced they will take advantage of that and reduce their polling places by the full 60 percent – talk about long lines at polling places across the county!!  Of course, County Executive Rick Fitzgerald and the Democrat majority on County Council are pushing mail-in ballots.

The deadline to apply for an absentee or mail-in ballot is 5:00 p.m. on May 25th, but the sooner you send it in the better.   NOTE: If you apply for an absentee or mail-in ballot, you must vote by mail.  If you change your mind and decide you want to go to your polling place on June 2nd, you can’t.

Action Steps

Here’s the link to the Mail-in Ballot Application.

If you are ill or disabled or won’t be in your voting precinct due to work, etc., here’s the link to a regular absentee ballot application.

When you receive your absentee or mail-in ballot, please follow the instructions closely!  These completed ballots must be received by your county election office by 8:00 p.m. on June 2nd.

The important point is VOTE!!
