Bill to Protect Minors From Harmful Therapy to be Discussed

Details

The Allegheny County Health and Human Services Committee is scheduled to discuss the proposed bill that would protect minors from harmful therapy methods today Wednesday, November 20th at 4:00 p.m.

Bill No. 11223-19 has been proposed and would protect minors from harmful therapy methods such as electroshock, needles in fingers, inducing vomiting, slapping, hitting, punching, kicking or causing other physical pain.  It would also protect the rights of mental healthcare professionals as they work with the minor child to help him or her reach their goals. 

The ordinance was introduced by Allegheny Councilwoman Sue Means and co-sponsored by Councilman Sam DeMarco
