Don’t forget Tuesday, May 8th is the last day to apply for an absentee ballot for the May 15th election. If you are ill or will be out of your voting precinct on May 15th, you may apply for an absentee ballot.
President Trump needs a strong Secretary of State who will support his agenda internationally. The President has nominated CIA Director Mike Pompeo to replace Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State. As CIA Director, Pompeo has recently met with leadership in North Korea and made progress in ending their nuclear program. However, he has not yet been confirmed as Secretary of State and there has been stiff opposition from Democrats because of his conservative views. Ask Senators Casey and Toomey to vote to confirm Mike Pompeo.
In many schools April 27th is the Gay Day of Silence, a GLSEN-inspired day of action when students (and some teachers) remain silent to normalize homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism. The message is that some people are born gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender and it’s okay. The dangers of engaging in those lifestyles are never discussed, nor is the fact that thousands have left homosexuality and there is a growing “de-transitioning” movement. Is your child’s school allowing silence during instructional time on the Day of Silence?
Comprehensive Sex Ed includes pornographic images and language. This is not acceptable and is actually dangerous to our children who are encouraged to engage in sexual activity at younger and younger ages. It is time to say enough is enough!
HB 2050 would make abortions simply based on sex or a Downs Syndrome diagnosis of the unborn illegal in PA. Pro-abortion Governor Tom Wolf has pledged to veto the bill if it reaches his desk. Planned Parenthood and other pro-death groups are lobbying hard to make sure the bill goes down in flames. State Reps need to hear from those who value life from the moment of conception.
It’s that time of year again – time to vote! The May 15th primary is fast approaching, but you only have until Monday, April 16th to register to vote or to change political parties. Remember Pennsylvania has a closed primary – meaning only Republicans and Democrats can vote to choose who’s on the November ballot representing their party.
Backpage.com is DOWN thanks to a raid by the FBI. Remember they were the only website that did not respond with HR 1865-FOSTA/SESTA was overwhelmingly passed by Congress recently. Backpage continued in the human trafficking business until tonight when they were stopped by federal agents from the US Department of Justice!
Next Tuesday, April 10th, from 9:30 a.m. till 10:30 a.m. a Parents Know Best Rally will be held in the main rotunda of the Capital Building in Harrisburg. It is a rally to support parental rights, which are increasingly under attack by a hostile judicial system. Plan to attend the rally to send a message to the legislature to pass HR 1349, the Parental Rights Protection Act. Plan to attend!
Testing has become so prevalent for school students ever since No Child Left Behind was signed into law. Even though that law is gone and we now have the Every Student Succeeds Act, the testing remains. Pennsylvania has the PSSA test which are simply assessment test. They do not test the achievement of the student, but instead how well the school is at teaching to the test!! PA takes a whole month out of the year to subject 3-8 grade students to this test!
Yesterday the House and Senate passed the second largest spending bill in US history and today President Trump signed it, after indicating he may veto it. He said he was forced to sign it in order to rebuild the military, but warned Congress that he would never sign such a bill again. Only five US House members from PA voted against it and Senator Casey voted ‘yea,’ while Senator Toomey did not vote.
