Do Black Lives Really Matter to Governor Wolf?

(Harrisburg) –  Last Week Governor Tom Wolf led marchers through the streets of PA’s state capital holding a sign that read “Black Lives Matter.”  The peaceful march was in response to the horrific death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police officers.  The American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA), a statewide advocacy group, questions Governor Wolf’s sincerity in holding that sign.

“Governor Tom Wolf is a former Planned Parenthood escort.  He is 100 percent pro-abortion.  He is an out and proud supporter of all abortions and has vetoed every pro-life bill that has crossed his desk.  How many black mothers did civilian Tom Wolf escort to Planned Parenthood in order for her to have her baby killed?  How many black babies have died since he has been governor because of his refusal to sign bills that would have protected them,” asked Diane Gramley, President of the AFA of PA.

Wolf participated in the march even though Dauphin county was still in the “yellow phase” of his own reopening plan.  Groups sizes in that phase are limited to 25 and social distancing is mandated.  Governor Wolf, nor any of the others, were practicing social distancing as they marched down the street!  Yet another governor who is not following his own orders given to ordinary citizens.

“In 2018 there were 30, 364 abortions in Pennsylvania, nearly half of those were black babies.    About 12 percent of Pennsylvania’s population is African-American, while 81.8 percent is white.  So . . . Governor Wolf’s action have caused a disproportionate number of black babies to die.  No, black lives do not matter to Tom Wolf and he only used the march as a photo op,” concluded Gramley.
