Today’s Supreme Court Decision Gives Legitimacy to So-Called Same-Sex Marriage

(Harrisburg) — Today’s United States Supreme Court  (SCOTUS) split decision gives legitimacy to the oxymoronic idea of a man and man or a woman and woman being able to marry.  The American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA), a statewide advocate for natural one man one woman marriage, expressed disappointment in the decision that places the desires of adults above the needs of children.

“Justice Scalia’s remarks back in 2003 that the Lawrence v Texas case would lead to the legalization of same-sex “marriage” have partially come true.  The Court has given their stamp of approval on the twelve states that have legalized homosexual so-called marriage.  They have given their stamp of approval on the redefinition of marriage,” commented Diane Gramley, president of the AFA of PA.

The door has been walked through that will lead to further redefinition of marriage in the future.  Once the courts have decided marriage can be whatever a group wants to define it, where does it end?  There are already efforts to use same-sex “marriage” to push for the legalization of polygamy.

“Children will now believe marriage is however the courts want to define it.  The idea of marriage as uniquely for the possibility of procreation is lost with this decision.  No matter what homosexual activists say, placing their relationships on the same plane as real marriage is a threat to the institution of marriage,” Gramley further commented.

Today’s SCOTUS decision tells children they don’t need a mom and dad and will have a negative impact on their upbringing and on the future of America.

It is now time for the Pennsylvania General Assembly to move forward with Representative Daryl Metcalfe’s Marriage Protection Amendment — HB 1349.
