We Cannot Forget that this President Seeks to Undermine Those Who Brought bin Laden to Justice

(Harrisburg) —  Last night’s announcement by President Obama brought news that Americans have been waiting for a decade to hear – Osama bin Laden is dead.  The 40-man Navy SEALs squadron was rightly praised by the President for their work dealing this devastating blow to bin Laden’s network of international terrorists.   However, the American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA), notes this same President signed a law on December 22nd that will undermine the very SEALS that brought bin Laden to an end.

“Members of the Navy SEALs and other special ops units continue expressing concerns about allowing homosexuals into their closely knit units where any distraction can cost someone their life.   Additionally, the Pentagon working group report  found, ‘More than 60 percent of Marines said avowed gays will hurt their unit’s effectiveness.’  Unbelievably,  Secretary of Defense Robert Gates does not believe that creates an insurmountable problem,” noted Diane Gramley, President of the AFA of PA.

Back in December the chief of naval operations, Adm. Gary Roughead, said it was likely that some highly trained combat sailors, including Navy SEALs, might refuse to re-enlist in protest if open homosexuals were allowed to serve.  All these concerns are being ignored in the name of political correctness.  The strength of America’s military is being compromised in the name of diversity and inclusiveness.

“Yes, America can breathe a short sigh of relief that her primary threat Osama bin Laden is dead thanks to the efforts of our strong military.  But the process to weaken that same military started several months ago and continues today even on the field of combat to change the mindset of military personnel when it comes to homosexuality.    In this time of celebration, Americans cannot forget about the political assault on our military and the President who is behind it,” Gramley further commented.

Even as President Obama partnered with homosexual activists to bring about the repeal of the law banning homosexuals from serving in the military, will he succumb to pressure from transgender activists who also want to be permitted to serve in the military?  Is this one of the issues discussed at last Friday’s meeting between the White House and transgender activists?
