Erie Mayor is Pressured to Support Same-sex “Marriage

The Erie Gay News has started an online petition to place pressure on Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott to sign onto the “Mayors for the Freedom to Marry” statement Remember earlier this month it was revealed that someone had registered him as a supporter without his knowledge. Click here for that story. Well, folks at the Erie Gay News are not happy that the mayor asked for his name to be removed.
His decision not to sign on as a supporter of homosexual so-called marriage was the right decision and reflects the beliefs of the majority of Erie residents.
Action Steps
Contact Mayor Sinnott using the webform here and by calling 814.870-1204.
1.) Thank him for the decision to have his name removed from the “Mayors for the Freedom to Marry” statement.
2.) Remind him that the majority of Erie residents do not support so-called same-sex “marriage.” Ask him not to give into pressure being placed upon him to add his name.
