PA Universities Complain About Budget Cuts, So UPenn Decides to Cover Sex Change Surgery

(Harrisburg) — Last week the University of Pennsylvania announced, beginning July 1st, they will cover the cost of sex change surgery for their “transgender” employees.   The school had already extended such insurance coverage for sexually confused students in the fall of 2010.   Two days after the school’s announcement, students from the University of Pennsylvania joined students from Temple University and the Community College of Philadelphia to march through the streets of Philly protesting higher education cuts of $249 million in Governor Corbett’s budget.    The American Family Association of Pennsylvania, (AFA of PA), points out that this social engineering is impacting the school’s budget and will ultimately impact the state budget and thus the taxpayer’s wallet.

” Last year the school’s administration decided not to extend this coverage because of the cost. Now University of Pennsylvania has given into years of pressure from the so-called ‘LGBT community’ on campus.  The decision to extend their health insurance coverage to include so-called sex reassignment surgery for those who are confused about who they are, in essence makes them an enabler for their confusion.  But apparently some students don’t seem to be connecting the dots on the costs of such social engineering and their school bills,” noted Diane Gramley, president of the AFA of PA.

The University of Pennsylvania appears to be the first school in PA to extend sex change surgery coverage to faculty/staff and students.  It is estimated that the cost of this surgery is approximately $16,000 and it is not known how many faculty members will use the coverage.  It also has not been reported how many students have had sex change surgery since the fall of 2010.

“Bottom line: this is costing the school and thus the students more.  As they complain about state budget cuts, they should make sure they have their financial house is in order.  It is apparent that rather than cutting back in these tough economic times, the school has decided to pay for the lie that someone can change their sex.  This is a bad decision at any time and will affect the students’ tuition, so maybe the students should be marching through their campus demanding the school cut expenses rather than marching through the streets of Philadelphia demanding that the taxpayers pay more for this sexual confusion,” concluded Gramley.
