US House to Vote on Banning Sex Selection Abortions

Details

Today the US House will be voting on a bill to ban abortions simply because the unborn child is “not the right sex.”  Click here to watch a very disturbing video taken undercover by Life Action in an Austin, TX Planned Parenthood facility.

HR 3541, the Prenatal Non-Discrimination Act (PRENDA),  sponsored by Congressman Trent Franks (R-AZ), has been recently revised and will be considered under “Suspension of the Rules.”  This means it will require a two-thirds vote for passage.  Debate is expected to begin around 2:30 p.m. today with an anticipated vote around 7:00 p.m.

A May 17 public opinion poll of 1,016 U.S. adults released by the Charlotte Lozier Institute found that, overall, 77 percent of respondents answered “yes” when asked, “When the fact that the developing baby is a girl is the sole reason for seeking an abortion, do you believe that abortion should be illegal?”  Only 16 percent of all respondents said that abortion should be legal in this circumstance.

At this point only one PA Congressman is listed as a co-sponsor — Mike Kelly.
