AFA of PA encourages Christians, through education, to become involved in pro-family issues in their community, state and the nation. This is some of what has been going on in the Commonwealth and the nation.
Pennsylvania’s Attorney General Kathleen Kane is refusing to defend our Defense of Marriage Act. Apparently the Commonwealth Attorneys Act gives her that option, although she may be stretching the interpretation of that law. Governor Corbett can appoint someone else to defend it, although at this point he has not.
Fifteen states have filed an amicus brief in support of the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), urging the United States Supreme Court to review a lower court decision striking down DOMA. The American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA), a statewide advocate for natural marriage, contacted the PA Attorney General’s office expressing concern that Pennsylvania was not on the 15-state brief.
If you know of anyone who has just turned 18 or has not registered to vote for one reason or another, the deadline for them to register to be able to vote in this all-important Primary Election is March 26th! Also, if you know of someone who would like to change parties, they have the same March 26th deadline.
It has been fifteen years since there’s been a concerted effort to rein in the flow of illegal adult pornography in this country. Too many people just believe that child pornography is illegal, but that is NOT what the law says! Success in this War on Illegal Pornography is very possible if you help.
