AFA of PA encourages Christians, through education, to become involved in pro-family issues in their community, state and the nation. This is some of what has been going on in the Commonwealth and the nation.
While we applauded Senator Pat Toomey’s statements saying the next President should nominate the US Supreme Court Justice to replace recently deceased Justice Antonin Scalia, we cannot support his insistence that two more of Obama’s nomineess be advanced for Pennsylvania’s Western and Eastern Districts!
Only Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) consistently stood boldly throughout the drama that took place in the Senate today. They demanded, and got, a vote to defund Obama’s executive action on amnesty. They forced the vote and all Americans now know where their sitting Senators stand on the issue!
As you’ve probably heard the US House passed the “CRomnibus” bill around 9:30 p.m. Thursday evening. Sixty-seven Republicans voted against it and 57 Democrats voted for it. Unfortunately PA Congressman Scott Perry was the only Republican from the PA delegation that voted ‘nay.’
Today Senator Bob Casey, Jr. joined the other Senate Democrats, except Senator Carl Levin (D-MI), Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Senator Mark Pryor (D-AR), to rewrite the rules and remove the minority party’s ability to filibuster judicial nominees requiring a 60 vote threshold to advance the nominee. Such a move leaves the path wide open for President Obama to remake the US judicial system. The American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA) is appalled by Senator Casey’s continued votes which attack the family and destroys the lives of babies in the womb.
1.) On Wednesday the Senate voted for cloture on SB 510 – “FDA Food Safety Modernization Act.” 2.) However this treaty, which President Carter signed 31 years ago, wants to end discrimination of women as defined by the United Nations.
HB 2479 would provide state and local law enforcement with full authority to apprehend Pennsylvania’s estimated 140,000 illegal aliens for deportation.
