On April 9th Mayor Michael Nutter and each Philadelphia City Council member signed onto “An Open Letter to Those Affected by Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) Laws.” It touts the city’s “inclusiveness” and invites those who feel discriminated against in the twenty states that have RFRA laws to relocate to Philadelphia. Yesterday the AFA of PA faxed a letter to Mayor Nutter and each of the City Council members expressing disbelief that such a letter would originate from that city.
Yesterday the American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA), a statewide group advocating for religious freedom, faxed a letter to Mayor Nutter and each of the City Council members expressing disbelief that such a letter would come from the city where the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were signed.
Colorado Civil Rights Division has ruled that Christian bakers cannot turn down a pro-homosexual “marriage” message, but a baker that supports same-sex “marriage” can turn down a pro-Biblical marriage message because it is hateful and bigoted. By the way, Colorado has an “anti-discrimination” law that includes the words “sexual orientation” and that is what was used to sue Masterpiece Cake. Here in PA, if HB 300 or SB 30 is passed we will see the same type attacks against Christian business owners.
One week ago today freedom of religion was reinforced in Indiana, but now the legislature has bowed to the threats of homosexual activists and their allies and taken the pieces of silver offered by corporations. On another Thursday night two thousand years, a man named Judas took thirty pieces of silver from influential leaders to betray his friend to his death and today Indiana legislatures took the silver promised by corporate bullies and betrayed their friends, their citizens, to the death of their religious freedom in the Hoosier state.
Liberal comedian Bill Maher has dubbed them the “gay mafia” and the qualities they least emulate are open-mindedness and tolerance. As we see homosexual activists and their allies descend upon Indianapolis with their utter hatred, vitriol, and despise for those who seek to protect the rights of conscience of Indiana citizens, they have proven they are homo-fascists. Their intentions are all too clear: this is a one way street and there will be no discussion permitted that does not fall into their line of thinking — no values, no thoughts can exist without their approval.
The cloture vote on S2578 was defeated in the Senate by a vote of 56-43. It was introduced by Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) in response to the US Supreme Court ruling in the Hobby Lobby case which found that the contraception mandate of Obamacare violated the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. The American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA), a statewide religious freedom organization, is concerned that Senator Robert Casey, Jr. not only signed on as a co-sponsor yesterday, but voted for taking away religious freedom today.
Democrats and homosexual activists are outraged the US Supreme Court sided with religious freedom in the Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Woods Specialties case. The outrage has extended to homosexual groups removing their support for the Employment Non-discrimination Act (ENDA) because it contains a religious exemption. Additionally, Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper asked that her name be removed from a letter she had signed asking President Obama to include a religious exemption in his anticipated executive order dealing with federal contractors and the hiring of homosexuals, bisexuals and transgenders.
The intense pressure leveled at Arizona Governor Jan Brewer to veto that state’s improvement to their already existing Religious Freedom Restoration Act again exposes the true intent of homosexual activists and their supporters. They want to force all to “celebrate” their lifestyle by using the rule of law to require that those with deeply held religious beliefs lay those beliefs aside and participate in validating the homosexual lifestyle.
