2007 PA Day of Silence Participants This year GLSEN has decided not to list the schools participating in the Day of Silence. This should be a red flag to all parents with children in middle and high school and to all taxpayers who are paying for the school day in which students and some teachers are remaining silent. Additionally, in the past GLSEN has been contacted by outraged administrators because their school has been listed on the Day of Silence website as participants and the administrator has denied their school was a part of the Day of Silence. A perfect example of this is two Blair County schools -- Bellwood-Antis High School and Hollidaysburg Area High School. They were listed as possible participants this year on our notourkids.com coalition website because of being listed on the Day of Silence website last year. They contacted us and said their school has never participated in the Day of Silence and will not be participating this year. Click here for the news release concerning the notourkids.com coalition. BUT several schools have been documented as participants this year. Many do not have this information publicized because they don't want parents and taxpayers to know. Those confirmed are as follows: Abington Senior High School (Montgomery County) Cumberland Valley High School (Cumberland County) Danville High School (Montour County) Dauphin County Technical School East High School (Chester County) Gettysburg Area High School (Adams County) McDowell High School (Erie County) Northeast High School (Philadelphia County) Owen J. Roberts High School (Chester County) Shippensburg Area High School (Cumberland County) Springfield High School – Delaware County
Colleges/Universities: Allegheny College -- Meadville Penn State College of Medicine -- Hershey St. Joseph's University -- Philadelphia Villanova University School of Law
