Adding ‘Sexual Orientation’ to Laws is Dangerous, Just Ask CA Doctors

(Harrisburg) – Yesterday’s California Supreme Court decision confirms the addition of ‘sexual orientation’ to laws will trump the First Amendment rights of Christians, noted the American Family Association of Pennsylvania (AFA of PA), a statewide religious rights organization.

“As Pennsylvanians face the prospect of laws being passed which would add actual or perceived sexual orientation and gender identity to the PA Human Relations Act, they need to take note of what happened in California yesterday.  Because of that language in California laws, Christian doctors will be forced to go against their religious beliefs and perform non-emergency medical procedures on homosexuals,”   stated Diane Gramley, president of the AFA of PA.

Currently H.B. 1400 is in the House State Government Committee and S.B. 761   is in the Senate Judiciary Committee.  These are identical bills which would add ‘sexual orientation and gender identity or expression’ to the PA Human Relations Act which currently deals with employment, housing and public accommodations.  What legislative changes or court decisions could ‘reinvent’ this law?

“In today’s courts the homosexual activist's wants and desires trump the First Amendment rights of Christians.  These California doctors were not denying life-saving care to the lesbian named in the suit.  They simply stated it was against their religious beliefs to artificially inseminate an unmarried woman and directed her to another doctor.  Supposedly H.B. 1400 and S.B. 761 have a religious exemption.’ But what will a real life scenario and a court case decide?” questioned Gramley.

In an effort to force Americans to accept their dangerous lifestyle as normal, homosexuals are relying on distortions of the facts and a hijacking of the civil rights movement.  Court decisions such as the California Supreme Court decision in May legalizing same-sex marriage and yesterday’s decision stating that all doctors must perform non-emergency procedures no matter what their religious convictions are also being used to further the homosexual agenda.
