The Dangers of HR 6666
Details
On May 1st Illinois Congressman Bobby Rush (D) introduced a bill that would give states money for COVID-19 testing and contact tracing. The amount $100,000,000,000 for 2020 and however much is necessary for 2021 and “any subsequent fiscal year during which the emergency period continues”!! Pocket change for Washington, DC politicians!
HR 6666 – COVID-19 Testing, Reaching, and Contacting Everyone (TRACE) Act is its name! Its purpose: “To authorize the Secretary of Health and Human Services to award grants to eligible entities to conduct diagnostic testing for COVID–19, and related activities such as contact tracing, through mobile health units and, as necessary, at individuals’ residences, and for other purposes.”
At its introduction, there were 45 co-sponsors — all Democrats with one Republican from New Jersey – Jefferson Van Drew. Surprisingly, no Pennsylvania Democrats were listed as cosponsors.
It has been referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. Please take time to read the bill. It’s a short five pages double-spaced.

Contact your US Rep and US Senators Bob Casey and Pat Toomey and ask them NOT to support HR 6666.
