These Senators Do Not Support a Talking Filibuster
Details
The effort to get the SAVE America Act passed in the US Senate continues. Remember, the current Senate rules (not the Constitution) require 60 votes to end debate on a bill before that bill can be brought to the floor for a final vote. There are not enough Democrats who will vote ‘yea’ to be able to reach the 6o votes needed for a vote on the SAVE America Act. All they have to do now is simply say “We are filibustering the bill” and then go back to their offices!! There is a massive effort to get Senate Majority Leader John Thune to change the rules to require a talking filibuster, meaning those who oppose the bill would be forced to speak and tell Americans why they oppose photo ID in order to vote and proof of citizenship in order to register to vote!
Action Steps:
President Trump’s former chief of staff Mark Meadows says he will publish a daily “whip count”. Thus far he reports that 25 Republican Senators have publicly stated they support changing the rules to require a talking filibuster and 25 have not indicated they support the change. Click here to get the list and the phone numbers of those who have not indicated support. Please take time to call these Senators Senators and ask them to support the talking filibuster because we must have election integrity and the SAVE America Act will do that.
