Democrats Demand More Pork for Their Pet Projects or No Coronavirus Relief
Details
The Republicans and Democrats in the US Senate had worked throughout the weekend on a coronavirus relief bill and were prepared to vote on it . . . then Nancy Pelosi came back to town! When she arrived, after taking the weekend off back home in San Francisco, she outright rejected the Senate bill and said she’d write her own. Here’s some of what her over 1400-page bill includes:
- Increased fuel emission standards for airlines receiving funds and carbon offset
- Publication and reporting of greenhouse gas statistics for individual flights
- payment for up to $10,000 in student loans
- same-day voter registration, early voting, voting by mail, ballot harvesting
- preserving collective bargaining powers for unions
- expansion of wind and solar tax credits
- requirements for federal and corporate gender and racial diversity data
- Post Office bailout of all current debt
- automatic extension of nonimmigrant visas
- restricting colleges from providing information about citizenship status
- money for Planned Parenthood
- Retirement plans for community newspaper employees
- Federal $15 minimum wage
- Permanent paid leave
It is more than obvious that the Democrats are holding the American citizens impacted by the coronavirus hostage. It does not take a 1400-page bill to simply deal with the issue at hand: coronavirus. The Democrats are using the bill as a means to force their pet projects on the American people.

Click here to contact your US Representative and Senators Bob Casey, Jr. and Pat Toomey and ask them to ONLY support a clean coronavirus bill. Strip the pork away and deal with the coronavirus impact on the country — period!
