More That Support Men in Women’s Private Spaces
Details
As mentioned in our most recent Weekly E-Newsletter, there are several Pennsylvania businesses that have indicated they support HB 300 which would add “sexual orientation and gender identity or expression” to the PA Human Relations Act. Again, passage of this bill would impact employment, housing and public education. Last year the PA Human Relations Commission took it upon themselves to change the rules by redefining the word “sex” in the PA Human Relations Act to include sexual orientation and gender identity. Sound familiar?? Yes, that is exactly what the US Department of Education has done with Title IX. Both of these agencies, made up of unelected officials, have simply changed the rules and are now saying this is the law! Sorry, but both the US Constitution and PA Constitutions say that is the job of the legislative body! These actions are those of the administrative state, not the PA legislature nor the US Congress!
However, these businesses have indicated they support passage of a bill that would allow men in women’s bathrooms, locker rooms and shower rooms at the local Y and don’t forget Planet Fitness already allows men in women’s private spaces! Anyway, on to the businesses: Alcoa, American Eagle, Aramark, Capital Blue, Duquesne Light Company, Einstein Healthcare Network, Gold Credit Union, Ikea, Kraft/Heinz, Lincoln Financial Group, Mainline Health, Navient, Penn State Health, PPG, Toll Brothers, US Steel, Wellspan Health have all indicated they support HB 300.
There are also chambers of commerce that have indicated they support passage of this bill! They are Cambria Regional Chamber, Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce, Inc., Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County, Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry, Delaware Chamber of Commerce, The Delaware River Towns Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, Eastern Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership, The Chamber of Gettysburg and Adams County, Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County, Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce, Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce, Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC, King of Prussia District, Lancaster Chamber, Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce, The Mainline Chamber of Commerce, Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, Mon Yough Area Chamber of Commerce, New Hope Chamber of Commerce, Norristown Chamber of Commerce, The Chamber – Pittsburgh Airport Area, Pocono Chamber of Commerce, Pike County Chamber of Commerce, Three Rivers Business Alliance, Tri County Area Chamber of Commerce, Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce, York County Economic Alliance.
Action Steps
Be discerning as to where you spend your money! If you live in the areas impacted by these chambers of commerce, you may want to let them know what you think of their support for this bill and, thus, their support for allowing men in women’s private spaces.
