Over Half of PA’s Coronavirus Deaths are in Nursing Homes, So We Must Keep Schools Closed!
Details
Recently Secretary of Education Pedro Rivera said “there’s a great deal of uncertainty” about schools being open in the fall because of COVID-19.
“I think the message for parents is we’re planning for the best but we’re preparing for the worst. I would encourage parents to start to think the same way.” (If that’s the case, then maybe we should get a school property tax reimbursement!)
A few days after Rivera’s announcement, House Speaker Mike Turzai accused the Wolf Administration of having a “can’t do attitude” and noted that that those at highest risk for the coronavirus are seniors and those in nursing homes.
“Instead of providing direction and hope … he has fostered anxiety, depression and hopelessness,” Turzai said.
