Take These Steps to Protect Your Child
Details
Moms for Liberty has won a federal lawsuit that exempts schools of their members from having to adhere to the dangerous Title IX changes which redefines the word “sex” to include “sexual orientation and gender identity”. The court document says, “The court clarifies that Defendants are enjoined from enforcing the Final Rule against Kansas, Alaska, Utah, Wyoming, K.R.’s school, the schools attended by the current and prospective members of Young America’s Foundation or Female Athletes United, as well as the schools attended by the children of the current and prospective members of Moms for Liberty.”
The Left says the Title IX change does not include the word “transgender”! However, the summary on the US Department of Education’s website specifically says, “The final regulations clarify that sex discrimination includes discrimination based on sex stereotypes, sex characteristics, pregnancy or related conditions, sexual orientation, and gender identity.” According to Medical News Today: “Some examples of gender identity types include nonbinary, cisgender, genderfluid, male, female, transgender, gender neutral, agender, and pangender.” So, yes, gender identity also refers to those who identify as transgender. Thus, this change opens female private spaces i.e. bathrooms, locker rooms and shower rooms to males who identify as female. It also opens women/girls’ sports to men/boys who identify as female.
In July the Republican-controlled US House voted to reverse this rule change, but don’t expect the Democrat-controlled Senate to take up the bill!
This news from yesterday, August 16: “The high court left intact two separate orders from federal courts in Kentucky and Louisiana, which blocked the Department of Education from enforcing the entirety of the rule across 10 states. The Justice Department had asked the Supreme Court to put part of the decisions on hold, but it declined the requests.”
Of course, Pennsylvania is NOT one of those states, nor one of the states in the Moms for Liberty lawsuit referenced in the first paragraph. Thus, yesterday’s news does not change the fact that the majority of Pennsylvania’s 500 public school districts will be impacted unless parents take steps to exempt their child’s school. Thankfully, some PA schools were in the original lawsuit and are already exempted from Title IX’s radical new rules.
Action Steps
Remember the Moms for Liberty lawsuit was won on the federal level, but the Biden Administration has appealed the decision, so this is an ongoing case.
What you can currently do to exempt your child’s school from enforcement of the radical changes in Title IX: If you have a child in public school, you can become a member of Moms for Liberty by going to their website click on the “Join the Fight” tab; fill out the form and check that you want to become a National Member, unless you have a chapter in your county. There will be a drop-down menu of county chapters when you register. At this point membership at all levels is free.
After becoming a member, you can then go to this link and there’s a FAQ towards the bottom of that page. Below that to the left is “Current members – Learn how to add your child’s school to your profile” “Download the FAQ” is the 4-pager that goes into more details about how members of Moms for Liberty can edit their profile to get their child’s school added to the list of schools that are exempt.
It is an easy process, but when a parent decides to become a member the extra step must be taken to edit their profile to add their child’s school as described in the 4-page FAQ. Remember each school building must have at least one Moms for Liberty member in order for that school to be exempt. It is not on the district level.
This is just one step parents can take to protect their children from the indoctrination that will likely take place in their public school. We have also uploaded an opt out form on human sexuality instruction from our friends at Child & Parental Right Campaign. You can access that opt out form here If you are on our physical mailing list, you will be receiving a copy of this opt out form in next week’s August letter.
