Here’s How the Vote Came Down
Details
President George Washington delivered his Second Farewell Address, September 19, 1796 giving this warning: “And of fatal tendency…to put, in the place of the delegated will of the Nation, the will of a party;- often a small but artful and enterprising minority… They are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the Power of the People and to usurp for themselves the reins of Government.” His warning against political parties should have been heeded. Have we not seen this played out in the past two months — loyalty to Party over what is best for the nation?
Former Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann, who was in the US Capitol Building when it was assaulted, says she’d make a $1000 bet that the assault was all a plan from the Left. Congresswoman Bachmann also she’s they achieved in one fell swoop to rebrand conservatives as the bad guys. She believes January 6th was a planned hostile takeover of our government!
We don’t know all the facts about the assault on the US Capitol Building on Wednesday, but we do know violence is not the answer. A retired military officer told The Washington Times that the firm XRVision used its software to do facial recognition of protesters and matched two Philadelphia Antifa members to two men inside the Senate. Additionally, John Sullivan, who uses BLM and Antifa hashtags was at the doors inside the Capitol near Ashli Babbitt when she was shot and killed. He has been involved in violent BLM protests in Utah and faces charges. That police affidavit describes him as “a protest organizer.” Additionally, one must wonder about the timing of the assault on the Capitol around 2:15 when the debate whether to reject votes for Arizona was taking place!!
After the assault on the Capitol Building, several GOP lawmakers reversed course and said they would not object to the Electoral college votes. Those included Senator Kelly Loeffler (GA), Senator Steve Daines (MT), James Lankford (OK) and Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA). Unfortunately, PA’s Congressman Fred Keller (PA-12) also reversed course and voted to uphold the Electoral College votes of both Arizona and Pennsylvania – the only two states that had both a US House member and a US Senator to object. Of course, Senator Bob Casey, Jr. (and all other Democrats in both the Senate and House), as well as, Senator Pat Toomey voted against all objections. In addition, to Congressman Fred Keller’s vote against objecting to the Electoral College votes, PA GOP Congressmen Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1), Dan Meuser (PA- 9), Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) and Glenn Thompson (PA-15) voted against objecting to Arizona’s votes. All PA’s GOP House members, except for Fitzpatrick and Keller, voted to object to PA’s votes.
The votes to object to the Electoral votes were not successful and the assault on the Capitol overshadowed the proceedings -perhaps that was the actual purpose of the person(s) who initiated the attack on the Capitol.
Spiritual warfare is real and our nation is in Satan’s crosshairs. Did you hear the opening prayer for the new 117th Congress in the US House of Representatives? Here’s the link
Listen closely as US Rep. Emanuel Cleaver II (D-MO), former minister from 1972 to 2009 at St. James United Methodist Church in Kansas city, MO, closes his January 3rd prayer with “We ask it in the name of the monotheistic god; Brahma; and god known by many names by many different faiths. Amen, and awoman.” This is how the new congressional session began! We, as a nation, have turned so far from the God that has richly blessed this nation.
Action Steps
- Pray for America and the days ahead. As I heard today: The America we woke up to on Monday is not the America we woke up to on Thursday.
- Contact your Congressman and let him or her know your thoughts on their votes on Wednesday/Thursday morning.
