Tell Disney to Leave Our Kids Alone!

Details

The Left likes to call it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, but that is NOT what Florida’s HB 1557 is.  It is a parental rights bill which gives parents the ability to sue districts over violations.

The bill that Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law on Monday says, “classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in pre-K through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.”    The bill also says a district cannot make a critical decision for any student that would have a physical or mental wellbeing impact on that student without the parents’ involvement or the parents’ consent.

Disney’s response:  “Our goal as a company is for this law to be repealed by the legislature or struck down in the courts…”

During a recent Walt Disney “Reimagine Tomorrow,” Disney entertainment president Karey Burke says, “As the mother [of] one transgender child and one pansexual child,” she supports having “many, many, many LGBTQIA characters in our stories” and wants a minimum of 50 percent of characters to be LGBTQIA and racial minorities.

Also, during Walt Disney “Reimagine Tomorrow,” executive producer Latoya Raveneau said her team implemented a “not-at-all-secret gay agenda” and is regularly “adding queerness” to children’s programming.   “I was just wherever I could just basically adding queerness…if you see anything queer in the show… no one would stop me,” Ms. Raveneau admitted.

Additionally, Disney has pledged to  increasing “our support for advocacy groups to combat similar legislation in other states.”

And, as mentioned in our latest AFA of PA Weekly e-Newsletter, Pixar (owned by Disney) will restore a same-sex kissing scene in the upcoming Toy Story spinoff “Lightyear.”
