Stop the Killing of Desperate People
Details
Currently there is a federal law, the Assisted Suicide Funding Prevention Act of 1997, that prohibits the use of federal taxpayer dollars to fund any aspect of euthanasia, but there is an effort to change that. In the US House Democrats from Colorado and California have introduced HR 8137, The Patient Access to End-of-Life Care Act. This is a “nice-sounding” bill, but the assisted suicide lobby intends to promote the funding of medically approved killing in conjunction with other end-of-life care, such as palliative care. The bill is calling this “medical aid-in-dying” and it tries to get around the Assisted Suicide Funding Prevention Act of 1997 by saying, “Medical aid-in-dying, an authorized medical practice, is not euthanasia, mercy killing, or assisted suicide.” Yet another effort to redefine words!
Why would we abandon people in their time of despair and need and simply kill them by prescribing certain meds?
