Did you know in order to open an online gambling account the individual has to provide their location data, email address, legal name as it appears on their identification, the last four digits of their social security number, their date of birth, and their mobile phone number? Did you know that in order to access a porn site all one has to do is click a button that says they are over 18?? This makes porn easily accessible to minors. State Senator Cris Dush is circulating a co-sponsorship memo to fix this problem! From the co-sponsorship memo: “This legislation would simply require pornography websites to perform reasonable age verification methods to verify the age of an individual before the individual can view pornography.” It also notes the bill “will closely mirror Utah Senate Bill 287, which passed in Utah with unanimous support in both chambers.” Here’s the link to the Utah bill.
