Another Resource to Help in Title IX Fight
Details
The fight against the US Department of Education’s redefinition of ‘sex’ in Title IX to include “sexual orientation and gender identity” continues.
Remember June 23, 2022 marked the 50th anniversary of the signing of Title IX of the Education Amendments. It says in part, “no person … shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
Its purpose was to give females equal access to sports, educational opportunities, etc. Those who voted for Title IX back in 1972 knew what a female was (unlike the newest Justice on the US Supreme Court!).
Since 1975, federal regulations from the Department of Education (USDOE), the federal agency charged with enforcing Title IX, have authorized schools to provide “separate toilet, locker room, and shower facilities on the basis of sex,” so long as the “facilities provided for students of one sex [are] comparable to such facilities provided for students of the other sex.”
Action Steps
Here is the link to a memo from the PA Senate Education Committee Chair Senator David Argall.
Especially check out the next to last sentence in the fifth paragraph. Again, schools with members in either Female Athletes United, Young America’s Foundation or Moms for Liberty will not be forced to comply with the new rule changes. Remember these are individual schools, not entire school districts, with members of either of these organizations.
