AFA of PA ACTION ALERT

November 11, 2010

Issues  (check corresponding number in ‘Details’ and ‘Action’ Sections)

1.)     Veterans Day 2010 – attack on our military continues

2.)    Commission Says Eliminate Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools

Details

1.)     President Obama, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen are putting pressure on the Senate to vote during the lame duck session to repeal the 1993 law banning homosexuals in the military.  This law is mistakenly called “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” which actually is President Clinton’s convoluted policy.  The 1993 law simply codified long standing military procedure and the action was taken because of the increasing aggression of homosexual activists in trying to force the military to allow homosexuals in the military.  The new Marine Commandant said over the weekend that lifting the ban would be disastrous.  The US House voted to repeal the law back in May.

2.)    A draft report by the president’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform calls for, among other things, the elimination of the Office of Safe and Drug Free School (number 16).  “Further, the results hoped for in creation of the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools have not been demonstrated,” states the report.

This is the office President Obama appointed Kevin Jennings, the founder of the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN), to back in May 2009.  Jennings as the ‘safe schools czar’ actually places our nation’s children at risk because of his advocacy of the homosexual lifestyle.

Action Steps

1.)    Click here to listen to Wednesday’s interview with Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness.  The lame duck session is scheduled to be the week before and after Thanksgiving.  Contact Senators Arlen Specter and Bob Casey, Jr. and ask them to remove the following amendments from the Defense Authorization Act:

  • The amendment to allow homosexuals to serve openly in the military;
  • The amendment to allow abortions to be performed on military bases;
  • The Dream Act which would allow young illegal immigrants to be rewarded with citizenship if they attend college or enlist in the military.
