Governor Wolf Cancels Many Things, But the PA Legislature Moves Forward!
Details
First: For those of you who receive our physical monthly letter, the Parental Rights Rally of March 25th at the State Capital mentioned in the February letter has been cancelled due to Governor Wolf closing the Capital Building to all visitors.
However, the legislature will still be voting on and passing bills. On Monday the State House met briefly and unanimously passed a special temporary rule that allowed them to vote while not present in the House chambers. The Senate did not meet. Both the State House members and State Senators were told to be ready to come back on 12 hours’ notice. Our concern is that there may be attempts, as there was in the US House, to pass a bill(s) dealing with coronavirus with added amendments i.e. legalizing abortions through telemed or growing the government. The AFA of PA will continue closely monitoring the situation and let you know.

Regarding the upcoming April 28th primary: You may want to consider applying for the new mail-in ballot option for this year’s primary. Here’s the online application link
You can either choose the mail-in ballot, which is not limited to certain reasons for the request, or the regular absentee ballot application which is basically limited to illness or work-related excuses.
