Rededicating the Nation to God
Details
In preparation for the 250th birthday of our country President Trump called for rededicating this country back to God. He said, “From the beginning, this has always been a country sustained and strengthened by prayer. If we bring religion back stronger, you’re going to see everything get better and better and better. So, as we chart our course for the next 250 years, let us rededicate ourselves to one nation under God.” He set aside May 17th for that purpose. As we celebrate 250years of freedom, this dedicated time of prayer is not only for our nation, but for its people because a nation is only as strong as its citizens.
The “official” Rededicate 250: A National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving” will be held from 9:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. on the National Mall in Washington, DC.
Presidents calling national days of prayer and fasting fill our nation’s history! “Coincidentally” the Continental Congress approved a resolution submitted by New Jersey Delegate William Livingston to set aside May 17, 1776, for a national day of fasting and prayer in support of America’s defense against what he called “the warlike preparations of the British Ministry.” Three and a half months later the Declaration of Independence was signed!
Additionally, Franklin Graham is calling for 50 days of prayer, beginning yesterday May 15th and culminating on July 4th.
Action Steps:
You can follow “One Nation Under God 50 Days of Prayer for Our Nation” as the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association set aside one day to specifically pray for a state throughout the 50 days. Here’s the link
Plan on joining a rededication service near you. If there isn’t one nearby, you can still pray for our nation as we rededicate her and ourselves to God.
