Saving Women’s Sports

Details

University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas is breaking all women’s swimming records!  How can this be??  Well, for three years he swam on the men’s team as a mediocre swimmer then he decided to start identifying as a woman so he could swim on the women’s team and the rest is history as they say.  We now have a biological male destroying all women’s swimming records and the Left calls this equality!!   We are hearing too many stories about boys/men beginning to identify as girls/women and dominating sports on high school and college campuses.  This is NOT equality, but an effort to destroy girls’ and women’s sports.  Title IX is supposed to protect girls’ and women’s sports, not be manipulated to allow a male who does not do well in male sports to be allowed to compete with females simply because he identifies as female.

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 states that “no person … shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”    Transgender activists and their allies are redefining “sex” in Title IX to include gender identity!   This is wrong!

Action Steps

HB 972 — the Protect Women’s Sports Act —  has been introduced in the State House.  It was referred to the House Education Committee back in April.  Ask Committee Chairman Curt Sonney to bring the bill to a vote.  His number is 814-897-2080.   Also, contact your State Rep here and let him or her know that you support HB 972 and you expect their support also.
