Today as students gather around their school’s flagpole to pray, let’s join them in a spirit of prayer!
From See You at the Pole website: ‘See You at the Pole™, the global day of student prayer, began in 1990 as a grass roots movement with ten students praying at their school. Decades later, millions pray on their campuses on the fourth Wednesday in September.’
1990 was tame compared to the attacks on our nation’s students today. Those attacks include actual physical attacks through an increased number of school shootings, attacks against the very hearts, minds and souls of our nation’s children, attacks against religious freedom and free speech. The federal government and outside organizations have become more involved in pushing detrimental education policies/assignments such as CRT, DEI, the normalization of all things LGBTQAI+, comprehensive sex ed, “safe sex”, sexually charged reading assignments, Black Lives Matter curriculum, revised history etc. Federal programs such as No Child Left Behind and Common Core have proved detrimental to our students’ academic success. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, nearly one-third of America’s K-12 students were behind grade level at the end of the 2023-2024 grade level. The education “experts” are blaming COVID lockdowns, but this trend has been going on for decades!
Action Steps
Today pray for our nation’s schools and the students seated in those classrooms. Also, pray for the administrators and teachers who are trying to stand against the floodwaters rushing in to consume them and their students.
