More recently three Lancaster County district judges have announced they will no longer perform marriages because of their religious convictions. Judges Joshua Keller, David Miller and Stuart Mylin have stopped performing all marriages. In the article, note the comment of Judge John C. Winters who says he has performed four or five same-sex “marriages” – the largest number noted in the article. “I thought at first (when same-sex marriages became legal here) it would be a surge, then a flattening off, but it’s just been a steady mixing of marriages,” he said. And why’s that? Because there are not that many same-sex couples wanting to marry! It will not have the great economic impact that proponents of same-sex marriage claim.
