Sign the Petition to Encourage Toomey to Stand Strong

Details

Senator Toomey is one of the majority of GOP Senators who are joining Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell in calling for no hearings and no floor vote on a Supreme Court Justice nominee to replace Justice Antonin Scalia. With the presidential election cycle in full swing, they are saying the next President should be the one to choose Scalia’s replacement.

President Obama nominated DC Circuit Court Judge Merrick Garland to the post last month. Only two Republican Senators – Mark Kirk (IL) and Susan Collins (ME) — support holding hearings. Pressure is increasing on GOP Senators, especially on those up for re-election like Pat Toomey, to demand Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley hold hearings and have a committee vote.
