AFA of PA ACTION ALERT

April 18, 2019

Issue

Deadline to Register to Vote is Monday!

Details

On May 21st Pennsylvanians will be voting for judges, county commissioners, row officers, city council, school boards and much more.  Those in the 12th Congressional District will also be voting in a special election to fill the seat of Congressman Tom Marino, who resigned due to health.   However, if you aren’t registered by April 22nd, you will not be able to vote in the May Primary.  Also, remember PA has a closed primary – meaning only Democrats or Republicans can vote.

Some believe primary elections aren’t important and it’s ‘no big deal’ to sit them out.  That is wrong!  In the primary, you will be voting on who you want on the November ballot.  i.e. if conservatives stay home on election day, guess what?  The least conservative candidate will win and be your party’s nominee.

Action Steps

If you or someone you know is not registered to vote or wants to change parties, you have until April 22nd.  You can register online here

Or you can download a blank voter registration form, print it off, fill it out and mail it (must be postmarked by April 22nd or deliver it to your voter registration office by close of business on April 22nd.   The addresses of the county voter registration offices are listed on this form.
