Disney to Sell Rainbow Mickey Collection and Donate to GLSEN
The Rainbow Mickey Collection has seven items.
According to their website:
“From May 14 to June 30, 2018, in celebration of Pride month, shopDisney will donate 10% from the online purchase of any item from the Rainbow Mickey Collection to GLSEN (www.glsen.org), a leading education organization ensuring safe and inclusive schools for LGBTQ students. Maximum donation $50,000.”
Their description of GLSEN (the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network) whitewashes what this organization really is! GLSEN is the group behind Gay Straight Alliance Clubs in schools, the Gay Day of Silence in April, pushes for all schools – public and private – to add sexual orientation and gender identity or expression to their policies, pushes for allowing boys to play on girls’ teams and use their bathrooms, locker and shower facilities. That is just a fraction of what this organization that Disney is supporting does.
Additionally, be forewarned that Gay Day at Disney World is held on the first Saturday of June. However, the preceding week is full of numerous other events in the area “celebrating” homosexuality and transgenderism. Examples include Fabulous Drag Bingo, Adult 18+ Expo, and Leather/Fetish Expo; all held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld.
Walt Disney supposedly does not sanction Gay Days and has told its employees to treat it like any other summer day, but there has been evidence that, at a minimum, some employees are not listening. Additionally, this sale of rainbow items to support GLSEN is again proof that Walt Disney is not family-friendly any longer.
Let your family, friends and neighbors know about the wrong path Disney has taken.
